Sayenko Kharenko advises on M&A; deal of the year by IFLR Europe Awards 2013
Sayenko Kharenko’s antitrust team has provided legal assistance in obtaining merger clearance with the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (the "AMC") for the acquisition of Inoxum, stainless steel company of ThyssenKrupp AG ("ThyssenKrupp"), one of the world's largest steel producers, by Outokumpu Oyj ("Outokumpu"), an international stainless steel producer.
The transaction has won the “M&A Deal of the Year” award at IFLR Europe Awards 2013 ceremony held in London on 10 April 2013.
After the review of the proposed transaction, the AMC concluded that its implementation neither poses threats to competition nor significantly limits competition on any product market in Ukraine.
Sayenko Kharenko’s competition team for the current transaction included senior associate Maksym Nazarenko, associate Olga Ivlyeva and was led by counsel Dmitry Taranyk and supervised by partner Vladimir Sayenko.
